We offer a range of engaging, hands-on educational programs and professional training opportunities for schools, community organizations, civic groups, landowners, and the wider community.

The JSWCD Education Trailer
Bring conservation directly to your event! Our Water Education Trailer is a fully interactive, hands-on classroom on wheels designed to make natural resource education unforgettable.
Inside the trailer, one can experience:
- An Interactive Topographic Sand Table: Watch geography come to life as users mold landscapes and see simulated rainfall flow in real-time over mountains and valleys.
- Interactive Stream Pollution Study: A hands-on look at how moving pollution can impact our streams and those who use them.
- Watershed Maps: A visual, interactive guide helping students understand exactly how water moves through the world and why protecting our local sub-watersheds matters.
Booking Information: The trailer is available for school visits, community festivals, and public events on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a booking is confirmed, it will be placed on our central website calendar.
Professional Educator Workshops (Project Learning Tree and Project WET – Project WILD to come!)
Are you a teacher, youth leader, or naturalist looking for a way to connect K-12 standards to natural resources and get your students outside? Look no further!
As certified facilitators, the JSWCD team can host official training workshops for two of the State’s popular environmental education programs:
- Project WET (Water Education Today): Focused on exciting, actionable science lessons regarding water resources and management.
- Project Learning Tree (PLT): Utilizing trees and forests as windows to help students look at the broader environment and build critical thinking skills.
Participants will receive official curriculum guidebooks and hands-on activity training on how best to use these resources. We can host dedicated sessions for your school district’s professional development days upon request, and we are hoping to make professional development credits available. Project WET trainings and guides will be provided free of charge through a grant, and we are hoping to eventually do the same with PLT.
Natural Resources Programming
Looking for a guest speaker or a guided field day? We love coming out to classrooms, club meetings, and community spaces to share our passion for conservation! We can tailor a presentation to meet your specific curriculum standards or group interests.
